It has been an unbelievable year and the 2021 back to school season at Lilydale Books will look a little different! What will always remain the same is our prompt and efficient service, our friendly and helpful staff, and our extensive range of books, resources, and stationery.
Below you will find a breakdown of our updated ordering options, our new instore protocols and important second hand book updates.
We want to make ordering with us as simple and efficient as possible for you this year, and offer a variety of ways to fulfill your booklist:
• Online ordering with priority Home Delivery
• Online ordering with convenient School Collection (if your school has opted for this option)
• Online ordering with Store Collection (Click & Collect)
Online ordering with home delivery will be our priority with free shipping for everyone until 11th December for all orders over $200. This convenient option allows you to receive all your book listed items quickly and efficiently whilst reducing community movement and overcrowding at our store.
We are prioritising your orders by:
• Increasing our home delivery department to double the capacity
• Extending our free shipping offer for all orders, not just our book listing schools
• Working extended shifts to make sure you receive your order as quickly as possible
• Increasing our phone customer support lines so there are shorter wait times in responding to your queries

We've made updates to our store to ensure everyone stays safe and healthy.
Lilydale Books pride ourselves on always delivering ultimate customer service. In 2020, this means prioritising the health and wellbeing of our customers, team members, their families, and the broader community. Although we strictly abide by government guidelines to keep you safe, the best way for our community to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to reduce our movements and take advantage of our easy to use online ordering system.

• Customers and staff must wear a facemask.
• Please sanitise your hands upon arrival in store.
• Please adhere to the store’s capacity limits. If possible one member per family. Our staff can help carry boxes or bags to your car.
• Please maintain 1.5m distance from each other. Use floor markings as a guide.

Some services have been suspended
The health and wellbeing of customers, team members, their families and the broader community in which we operate is the utmost priority for Lilydale Books. It is with this in mind that we have made the difficult decision to suspend our Second Hand Book Service for the 2020/2021 booklisting season.
Lilydale Books has been following the Government’s advice with store closures, adhering to social distancing practices and other guidelines, such as reduced store capacity. Our customers travel from around Victoria to take advantage of this service and we believe it is not in the community’s best interest to encourage further movement or crowding in store.
We know during these times families need help more than ever.
• We are extending our free shipping offer on orders over $200 until December 11th for all orders
• We will also provide additional store vouchers to schools for distribution to those who need them.
If you have a second hand consignment from 2019/2020, it will be extended for an additional 12 months. Consignments are always checked in store not over the phone and we do not check consignments during the back to school season (December to mid-February).

This decision was not made lightly. We thank you for your understanding and we anticipate our second hand book service will resume in the future.
