INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS

International Relations is the student's resource book for the fourth term's work of the Grade 9 Provincial High School Social Science Course. It is the third topic dealing with the theme of government and people. The book provides the core learning material for the topic and a supporting set of teaching notes is available. These notes advise teachers on how to make best use of the book as a resource and as a stimulus to individual innovation.
This book is one of the items of instructional material produced for Provincial High Schools in Papua New Guinea as part of the Education III textbook sub-project.

The student book contains material which integrates the presentation of information, the development of ideas and concepts, the reinforcement of acquired knowledge and skills and the application of particular Social Science skills.
Stimulates an enquiring and critical approach.
Encourages the making of value judgements and fosters positive attitudes.
Students are encouraged through role-playing, decision-making, problem-solving and predictive activities to develop skills, attitudes and values that will be applicable in all walks of life.
Activities appear within the body of the text as appropriate points and are designed to promote interaction.
Exercises designed to help with comprehension and acquisition of new skills, to reinforce existing knowledge and skills and to stimulate enquiry and further research.
There are also practical exercises for group work and prolonged research questions, in addition to discussion topics for classroom appraisal.
